Dry ice can not be stored. It is made from a compressed gas and will sublimate.

The most popular use for dry ice is to keep food frozen. You will need about one pound of dry ice for each one pound of product to keep it frozen in an insulated closed container for 24 to 36 hours.

To keep a broken appliance cold try 5 pounds in a closed standard refrigerator or 10 to 15 pounds in a closed standard freezer to keep it cold for about 24 hours. The dry ice should be placed near the top of the appliance.

Mix dry ice pellets with warm water for a fog or bubbling brew.
